You can download the ISSN records in different formats:
- MARC formats: MARC21-XML, MARC21-ISO, UNIMARC-XML, UNIMARC-ISO; - CSV; - Linked data formats: RDF/XML, Turtle, JSON-LD. Records are encoded in RDF following the ISSN linked data application profile [see ISSN linked data application profile]
This function is accessible to subscribing users only. The number of downloads depends on the subscription package. The minimum amount is set to 1,000 records per year.
Any user (human or machine) may decide what representation of the resource it prefers to retrieve. This is possible through content negotiation or by modifying the request URL:
- The URL http://issn.org/resource/ISSN/[ISSNnumber]/ will provide the record in an HTML human-readable format.
- The URL http://issn.org/resource/ISSN/[ISSNnumber]?format=xml will provide the bibliographic metadata encoded as RDF/XML.
- The URL http://issn.org/resource/ISSN/[ISSNnumber]?format=turtle will provide the bibliographic metadata encoded as RDF Turtle.
- The URL http://issn.org/resource/ISSN/[ISSNnumber]?format=json will provide the bibliographic metadata encoded as JSON-LD.
Content negotiation is available for subscribing and free users although the latter can only retrieve essential ISSN metadata.
Any request to the portal may be automated thanks to the use of REST protocol. The download of results is also automated. This service is restricted to subscribing users. Please contact sales [at] issn.org for more information.
